AuctionMethod Wins SourceForge's Spring 2026 Top Performer Award in Auction Software

Written by AuctionMethod | May 27, 2026

AuctionMethod is proud to be recognized as a Top Performer across SourceForge, Slashdot, and Top Business Software, based entirely on real user reviews.

SourceForge has named AuctionMethod a Spring 2026 Top Performer in Auction Software, alongside companion recognitions as a Top Business Software High Achiever and a Slashdot Top Performer for the same period.

SourceForge President Logan Abbott said: “We’re excited to announce the winners of our Spring 2026 Top Performer Awards. AuctionMethod has been recognized as a Top Performer in the Auction Software category, and their high volume of outstanding user reviews speak to the quality solution they provide.”

SourceForge is the world’s largest B2B software review and comparison website with nearly 20 million in-market B2B software buyers per month. This award recognizes exceptional companies and products with a high volume of recent excellent user reviews that puts them in the top tenth percentile of highly reviewed products on SourceForge.

Three recognitions across Slashdot Media's B2B review network, all based on verified user reviews:

What "Top 10%" Means

To win the Spring 2026 Top Performer award, each award recipient had to receive enough high-rated user reviews to place the winning product in the top 10% of favorably reviewed products out of the 100,000+ products on SourceForge, which demonstrates the utmost quality that AuctionMethod delivers to customers.

Daniel West, Co-Founder and VP of Sales at AuctionMethod, said: "We've been heads-down for more than a decade building exactly what auctioneers told us they needed: flat-fee pricing, full control of their data, white-labeled branding, and software that doesn't break when you push it hard. Awards like this matter to us because they come from the auctioneers themselves. Seeing it recognized by the people using the platform every day means more to us than any vendor-judged award could."

In Their Own Words

Three themes showed up consistently in the reviews submitted to SourceForge:

1. They came back from the bigger platforms.

“The platform is easy to use, great support, and is customer-friendly. My experience has been great! I diverged momentarily to a large platform that offered a much greater audience, but I find Auction Method much easier to use.” — Albert E., Company Owner

The "bigger marketplace" pitch is seductive: more bidders, more traffic, more visibility. The catch is what those marketplaces take in exchange: commissions, bidder lists, brand visibility, and the ability to run an auction business on its own terms. Reviewers who've tested both worlds keep coming back to that math.

2. The platform holds up at scale.

"We have been in business since 2012. In 2018 we began experience growing pains and our website auction software was unable to handle the amount of traffic and items we had on a weekly basis. I'm very slow for change but after our site kept crashing and we had to restart auctions I decided to reach out and find out what AuctionMethod was all about… We haven't experienced any crashes of the website nor slowness on the bidding end… I am very very thankful we did the switch. Our site was able to look the same with way more features and accessibility. We love it! Bidding is more fun than having to refresh a page constantly. We have a lot of volume of items weekly so we've pushed the software as hard as we can." — Kyle P., Auction Specialist (6 years using the platform, 4,500+ items per weekly auction)

Reliability isn't just a marketing line for AuctionMethod; it's the core function customers depend on for their business. Kyle's team has been pushing the platform with high-volume, high-frequency auctions for six years without crashes or slowdowns. That's the test that matters.

3. It fits how auctioneers actually work.

"Auction setup is straightforward, especially once templates are created, and the process of closing an auction and sending invoices is impressively fast. I’ve even handled invoicing from the tailgate of my truck using a laptop and hotspot in just minutes." — Dwight T., Partner/Auctioneer (switched from two other platforms)

This is what AuctionMethod was built for. Auctioneers don't sit at desks. They're at estate sites, equipment yards, farms, and storage facilities. Closing an auction and sending invoices from a truck tailgate is what "platform that fits your workflow" actually means.

About AuctionMethod

AuctionMethod was founded in 2012 on a simple thesis: auctioneers deserve software built around how they actually work, not the other way around. More than a decade later, that thesis still drives the product. And the reviews behind this award suggest AuctionMethod has stayed honest to it.

What that looks like in practice:

  • Flat-fee pricing. No commissions, no per-lot fees, no skim on the back end. Customers pay a monthly rate and keep what their auctions earn.
  • Full ownership of data and branding. White-labeled by default. Bidder lists and transaction history stay with the customer, exportable at any time.

  • Built for how auctioneers run. Mobile cataloging that works offline, automated invoicing in minutes, simulcast, timed, and live formats in one platform, and infrastructure that holds up under high-volume weekly use.

Two paths to fit any auction operation. AuctionMethod's online auction software solutions are flat-fee, plug-and-play, and ready to launch in days, built for auctioneers who want a reliable platform without a dev team. Custom auction software development is available for complex operations whose workflows don't fit off-the-shelf tools: a custom build shaped to the auctioneer's processes, asset types, integrations, design needs, and edge cases.

One promise either way: auctioneers run their auctions their way, keep more of what they earn, and grow on a platform built for the long haul.
